SUMMARY:CANCELED // Film Screening: 16 Bars
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. \nExploring cycles of addiction and incarceration through the power of music and storytelling\, the inspiring 16 Bars offers a window into rehabilitation. The film follows a unique rehabilitation effort in a Virginia jail that invites inmates to write and record original music. In the jail’s makeshift recording studio\, four men collaborate on an album with Grammy-winning recording artist\, Todd “Speech” Thomas\, from the hip-hop group Arrested Development. Stay after the film for a panel discussion with Lyn Twyman\, Reentry Subject Matter Expert\, 16 Bars Regional Coordinator and CEO of LASERS; and Antoin Quarles\, Founder of Helping Oppressed People Excel (HOPE). Watch the Trailer. Member: $6\, Non-member: $8. \nClick here for tickets.
