SUMMARY:Film: Tell Me More and Then Some
DESCRIPTION:This film explores the history of American jazz in Baltimore as well as the current state of Baltimore’s jazz scene. Visitors will view footage of jazz greats Eubie Blake\, Chick Webb\, Billie Holiday\, Ethel Ennis and more. The film challenges the idea that “Baltimore’s jazz scene died along with the Royal Theatre and Pennsylvania Ave.” Instead\, the film demonstrates that the city is still producing amazing culture and jazz with musicians like Gary Bartz\, Cyrus Chestnut\, Dontae Winslow\, Lafayette Gilchrist and Warren Wolf Jr. A post discussion with film producer Jeff Finch\, jazz personality Gary Ellerbe and local musicians will follow. This program will begin with a musical salute to Ethel Ennis by musicians Greg Hatza and Marleen Ross. \nIncluded with Museum Admission. \nLet us know you are coming.
